NHL's 'Stanley Pup' Showcases Dogs Ready for a Furever Home
32 pups ready to take the ice
The Stanley Cup finals begin this week, and so does the “Stanley Pup,” an adorable program featuring 32 doggos, one for each NHL team, all available for adoption.
Each pooch has a hockey-themed name like Sidney Pawsby, Dustin Woof, Filip Fursburg, Taylor Howl, Matthew Fketchuk, Jake Oettingrrrrr, Claude Growl and Jeremy Spayman. Plus, there’s a vid of these cuties making their tunnel entrance.
The 90-minute show will run on June 6 in the U.S. and Canada on TruTV and Sportsnet.

NHL players Troy Terry, Jaccob Slavin, Sam Bennett, Tyler Toffoli, Victor Hedman and Alexander Kerfoot, among others, will intro dogs to support local pet adoption in their cities. “Game” commentary will be provided by Mark Shunock and Chris Rose, while Michelle Gingras covers rink side antics.

Celeb dog lovers Tim Allen, Cedric the Entertainer, Cheri Oteri, George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Bublé, Nikki Glaser and Paula Abdul will join in the fun.

Nonprofit Petco Love provides the dogs in the competition, with Bissell and Blue Buffalo joining as sponsors.
