Here are some trailers that caught our eye this week.

We meet Roman (Dylan O’Brien) and Dennis (James Sweeney) at a support group for twins who have lost their other halves. The pair—one gay, one straight—bond over their mutual dislike for doing things alone. Events take an sharp turn after they ask each other the worst thing they’ve ever done. Props for giving nothing away and keeping the intrigue and twists coming in this dark comedy. It ends with both of them crying, a punch to the face and Dennis asking, “You know how people say, ‘Just be yourself.’ Like, what version of me?” Discover the truth when it hits theaters Sept. 5.

This political thriller opens with a British Prime Minister (Suranne Jones) challenging the French President (Julie Delpy) for wanting to police the U.K.’s borders. Soon, the P.M.’s husband is kidnapped. This well-told promo ends with explosions at 10 Downing St., terrorists upping the ante and Jones declaring, “I will not be threatened. And anyone who thinks that I would has badly underestimate me.” Find out who survives when the series drops next week.

This feel-good clip opens on Julie Kavner explaining that she’s narrating because she adores Ella (Emma Mackey) and has worked for her since she graduated from law school. Mackey has just become a governor, and she asks her aunt (Jamie Lee Curtis) for advice. Curtis warns Mackey that the men in her political life are ticking time bombs. Kavner distills this sentiment: “You are truly blessed if you have never experienced other people’s normal, happy families as a small stab in the heart.” Watch for the bit where Emma proves she’s a scream queen (just like Jamie Lee). From Oscar-winning writer/director James L. Brooks. This gem’s in theaters Dec. 12.

This terrifying red-band trailer opens with the camera panning an ordinary house. We hear frantic knocking on the door. A woman ask if someone needs help and a man answer, “She finally let me go.” Next, we hear a gunshot. Mia (Camille Sullivan) takes a video-cassette from a dead man’s hand and watches the tape. The plot centers on Mia’s missing sister and a creepy woman. At the end, Mia shakes with fear and gets thrown across a room. Do not watch this alone! In theaters Oct. 3.

In the first 12 seconds of this trailer, without a stitch of dialogue, we come to udnersatdn the struggles that Aishe (Sebiye Behtiyar) faces. She has a random meet cute with Skinner (Fred Hechinger) on the streets of NYC during his first time in the Big Apple. They realize they have a lot in common—Aishe’s afraid of being arrested for not having a work visa and Skinner might have PTSD from serving in a war. They help each other fight through their fears. As Skinner says, “If there’s something you want to do, you better do it today. You have no idea what’s gonna happen tomorrow.” This inspiring film hits theaters Sept. 5.
