Props for not giving anything away about the twists in this captivating film starring Julia Roberts. This one begins with a clock ticking underneath a heated discussion between Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield’s character. Julia’s husband, played by Michael Stuhlbarg, believes she loves her young friends because they worship her as a professor. Things heat up when Edebiri tells Roberts she was assaulted by Garfield. The clip ends with Roberts and Garfield fighting. Watch for Julia’s chilling warning: “Not everything is supposed to make you comfortable.” Only In theaters Oct. 17.
Eddington

A standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix ) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) opens this skillfully edited trailer. Kudos for using “Home on the Range” as a counterpoint to the chaos and civil unrest during the pandemic. Phoenix is perplexed about why everyone is protesting and at war with their neighbors. It ends with a slap to Joaquin’s face, followed by gunshots and Phoenix pleading, “We need to free each other’s hearts.” In theaters July 18.

Founder Gloria Steinem sums it up: “Now we have all these words like ‘sexual harassment,’ ‘battered women.’ Years ago, it was just called ‘life.'” Discover the iconic magazine and the women who challenged their times. On HBO now.
